Modric: I joined AC Milan to play with Leao

Luka Modric hailed AC Milan teammate Rafael Leao after victory over Fiorentina on Sunday.

Milan won 2-1, with Leao scoring both of the Rossonero's goals.

Afterwards, Modric told DAZN: "Rafa is truly fantastic, and I was looking forward to playing with him. Unfortunately, he got injured early, but now he's back, and this is the Rafa we need.

"He's an extraordinary talent, one of the best in the world in my opinion, and he can still improve, which is fantastic. It all depends on him, and I hope these two goals give him more confidence. He's very important for us.”

The veteran midfielder added, "We have to take it one game at a time. We are growing as a team. We have shown character and quality; this is the right path for everyone together.”
