Monaco are considering a move for former Liverpool man Daniel Sturridge, who is still looking for a new club after becoming a free agent in summer.

The Ligue 1 club are faced with the issue of star striker Radamel Falcao wanting to make a lucrative switch to Turkey and join Galatasaray.

As a result, Monaco have earmarked Sturridge as one of the leading candidates to fill Falcao's boots, as report L'equipe.

The French publication report that Sturridge has ties to Monaco and would be open to making the move to French football.

Falcao has one year remaining on his current deal in the principality, but is reportedly to be looking for an early exit.

Sturridge meanwhile remains a free agent after failing to secure a move to a Premier League club.

Like Falcao however, Sturridge is also wanted in Turkey, with Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor both willing to sign him up.

As reported by Sportsmail, the England international is also weighing up an offer from MLS side DC United, who are set to make an official move once Wayne Rooney leaves the club.
