Monaco winger Gelson Martins could face a six month ban after pushing referee Mikael Lesage twice during his side's 3-1 defeat to Nimes on Saturday.
Martins was furious after his team-mate Tiemoue Bakayoko was dismissed for a stamp on Nimes' Romain Philippoteaux.
After receiving a red card himself, Martins took out his frustration on Lesage, shoving the official on two occasions. As reported by Get Football News France, the LFP disciplinary committee will meet on Wednesday in order to decide Martins' punishment.
The minimum suspension that Martins is likely to receive is an eight-game ban, while the most severe punishment would see him banned for six months.
Monaco have lost their last three league games in a row and are currently in 13th place in Ligue 1.
Martins has scored four goals and provided one assist in Ligue 1 so far this campaign.
