According to Mundo Deportivo, at a commercial event, Morientes was asked about the current situation of the Spanish national team, and reporters also discussed the upcoming Real Madrid club presidential election on Sunday, June 7th with him.

Morientes first stated: "Club elections should be held every 3 to 4 years." He himself is full of anticipation for the outcome of this election.

Morientes said: "If I were a club member, I would wait until Saturday evening to make my voting decision." He did not express a preference between the current president Florentino and businessman Enrique Riquelme, the two candidates.

The last time Real Madrid had multiple candidates running for president was in 2006, when Florentino chose to step down after his first term. He returned to lead the club in 2009 and has remained in office ever since.

Reporters also asked Morientes about the potential transfer of Haaland: Riquelme's campaign team had released news claiming they would sign the Norwegian striker, but Manchester City, Haaland's club, and people close to the player subsequently denied the rumor.

Morientes emphasized: "Top players and teams always achieve good synergy, but the key is to define the players' roles within the team. Haaland needs to adapt to Real Madrid, not Real Madrid accommodate Haaland."
