This international break has seen a number of records broken already.
Sergio Ramos surpassed Iker Casillas to collect his 168th Spain cap, while Cristiano Ronaldo broke the 700-goal barrier.
There are still a number of other football records that have been, and likely will stand for a long time.
Most International appearances: Ahmed Hassan
Ramos' 168 has him in the top 10 for all countries, but he's still got some big names ahead of him.
Gianluigi Buffon has more than any other European player with 176 caps for Italy, but Egyptian Ahmed Hassan has more than anyone else with 184.
Both Ramos and Ronaldo (162) will be eyeing his record.
Most games: Peter Shilton
His total is astonishing with 1,390 appearances to his name.
Rodrigo Ceni, another goalkeeper, is next on 1,241 and Xavi Hernandez comes third with 1,140.
Most goals in a single World Cup: Just Fontaine
This is one of the records that seems untouchable, as the Frenchman bagged 13 goals in the 1958 World Cup.
Ronaldo Nazario got eight in 2002, while Miroslav Klose has 16 in total across his four tournaments, making him the leading scoring in the competition.
Most goals in history: Josef Biscan
With 805 goals he has something of a cushion over Ronaldo (700), but the No.7 will be targeting his tally.
Lionel Messi, with 672, will also be eyeing it.
Most goals with an international side: Ali Daei
Daei's 109 have him above the rest, but he's already conceded that Ronaldo (95) will break his record.
Most goals in the Champions League: Cristiano Ronaldo
Raul held the record but the extra-terrestrials that are Messi and Ronaldo left him behind.
The Portuguese has 127 to the Argentinian's 112, with Raul behind on 71.
Karim Benzema is next.
Most goals in a year: Lionel Messi
A phenomenal 91 goals in 2012 is unlikely to be beaten.
He's also the top scorer in a season, bagging 82 in 2011/12.
Most European Cups won: Paco Gento
Paco Gento leads the way with six.
Eleven players, Ronaldo included, have five, while Messi is in the group with four.
Most World Cups: Pele
He ruled the world three times with Brazil, in 1958, 1962 and 1970.

do you compere juve to Madrid? Ronaldo leaving Madrid to juve is like counting 2 steps forward and 5 steps backward.... CR is a player who has moved from one place to the other mind u he won golden boot while in man U, he won champions league while in man U.. does that mean anything to you? Messi has achieved everything a player could dream of in Barça... the reason he hasn't left got nothing to do with loyalty.... Messi doesn't want to leave because he considers Barça one of the best 3 teams in the world and he doesn't want to go else where and people would expect him to do same as he does in Barça or above what he is doing in Barça.... that's the main reason he is still in Barça

Bro every smart players would leave their team only if they can go to a team which is already champion of their country. Why did not C.ronaldo go to tottenham not Man utd, why not Athletico and not R.madrid. Why not Milan not Juventus? If you can answer this, you would have an answer to ur question! 😉

yeah ok. my bad. still that was absurd claiming that Ron won for 3 teams and messi won 6 with 1 team. teams do changes right, except for pique and busi everybody from that team isn't playing for the team. claiming that he wins for only one team is not a worthy criticism
oh no, definately a worthy criticism ... getting out of your comfort zone and playing in a different league with less capable player really tests you, look at Hazard, Neymar
