Benfica coach Jose Mourinho has urged Italy to appoint a local as new manager.
Italy's football federation is seeking a new national team coach after Rino Gattuso's resignation. Gattuso stepped down after failing to guide the Azzurri to this summer's World Cup.
Former Inter Milan coach Mourinho has been mentioned as a candidate, though he has ruled himself out of the running.
Mourinho said: "Someone asked me if I would coach their national team (Italy): my answer is that they don't need a foreign coach.
"They have Allegri, Conte, and I could name five or six others, but that's not the point."
