Jose Mourinho hit back at the Chelsea fans who abused him after Manchester United’s 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge with a three-fingered gesture.
United were on the verge of recording a valuable and rare win in west London before Ross Barkley pounced to snatch a dramatic 96th minute equaliser and preserve his side’s unbeaten start to the new season.
Both Maurizio Sarri and one of his coaches, Marco Ianni, provoked Mourinho by celebrating in the face of the United manager, prompting a furious response which saw the Special One forcibly held back by a steward.
The home crowd, angered by Mourinho’s antics, serenaded the club’s former manager with chants of ‘***k off Mourinho’ and the 55-year-old responded at the final whistle by holding aloft three fingers, representing his hat-trick of Premier League title wins during his two spells at the club.
Asked to explain his reaction to Barkley’s goal, Mourinho said: ‘I did not get respect back from Chelsea [fans] but that is not my responsibility. What I did here today I will do in Madrid, in Milan, in Porto, the reaction from the fans is not up to me.
‘I am not annoyed with anything. What happened with Sarri’s assistant, Sarri was the first one to come to me and say he will resolve it.
‘The assistant has already come to me and apologised, I told him to forget it. I have made a lot of mistakes in my career.’

He used to be the Special One in Chelsea. He’s been loved by all the fans. No matter how Jose leave your club I think he still deserved the respect. Win 3 cups which is more than any other coaches in Chelsea. I just wonder if he leaves United and come back again to PL with another club maybe this same things also he will show to us - I win 3 cups with Manchester United (3 fingers) 😅😅 Even though I’m frustrated with United form now but I still love this man - Jose Mourinho

I'm ashamed of the Chelsea fans here honestly, I respect Mourinho for what he's done for us in the past years and the fans who don't see that are just plastic fags who should leave. I bet they only support us when we win and diss us when we lose, ungrateful

Muorinho remain our best coach so far & there is no amount of history or record any coach will break or keep that will erase Muorinho name in our history. as for Muorinho he over reacted because that has been his Patten of celebration when he was at CFC.HE did it against man city when mannuel pellegrini was their coach & Against Arsen Wenger also.
