In the 54th minute of the second half, Mussa kicked the ball to Pubill, but the latter directly used his hand to hold the ball in place in the penalty area, a typical "childish mistake" that triggered immediate questioning from the Barcelona players.
However, the referee Istvan Kovacs seemed to regard this as Mussa giving Marc Pubill the right to kick the ball and did not award a penalty, nor did VAR intervene.
In this regard, Mundo Deportivo said that the rules clearly stipulate that "the ball is in play when it is kicked and is clearly in motion." Therefore, after Mussa kicked the ball, the ball was clearly in motion, and the referee awarded a goal kick. Therefore, Pubill's handball should have been penalized with a penalty.
