He has yet to play his first game for Barcelona, but on-loan defender Jeison Murillo has already claimed that he wants to remain for longer than the initial six months.
The Colombian arrives on a temporary deal from Valencia and could be signed permanently by the Blaugrana in the summer for a fee of 25 million euros.
On Thursday, he was presented to over 1,000 people at the Camp Nou, accompanied by members of his family and the club hierarchy to discuss one of the proudest days of his career.
"I thank everyone who is here," he told the assembled media.
"This is a very important opportunity for me, it is the biggest door that can be opened in football.
"It is a dream come true, this means a lot to me.
"I have to work hard and get up to speed with the team and then the coach can make his decisions.
"The dream is to wear this jersey.
"I have half a season to show that I deserve it and I will work hard to stay here longer.
"I want to show the coach that he can be confident in me and show the rest of the players why I was selected to play here."
The 26-year-old also insisted that he will not be overawed by the experience of playing for Barcelona and revealed that he asked the opinion of a compatriot before making the move.
"From the smallest to the biggest teams, I've always tried to do my best for any club I've played for and this will be the same," he added.
"I'm very close with Yerry [Mina] too and we are good friends so he made some recommendations to me and advised me on some things."
Murillo will be eligible for selection from January 1 onwards, so could make his debut against Getafe on January 6.

Murillo was probably one of the best CB’s in Copa America 2015 if not the best and he has potential to be world class IMO... But now our La Masia kid Chumi wont probably even get 10 minutes for us in La Liga or in CDR for the rest of this season now i feel sry for him actually because i think he would’ve done a decent job for us while Vermaelen is out for a month... And honestly i love Vermaelen but its time to sell him in January we cant have 5 CB’s in our squad thats one CB to many...

If we were to get De Ligt in the summer he would be 5th choice after Piqué, Umtiti, Lenglet, and De Ligt. To say nothing of any potential academy players. The only way I see him staying is if he gets significant playtime and we decide not to get De Ligt.
