Napoli have turned towards Inter veteran Samir Handanovic for their new goalkeeper and he’s available for €25m.
According to the Corriere della Sera, the Partenopei have asked for information on the Slovenia international.
Handanovic turns 34 next month and has consistently been one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A.
Practically his entire career has been in Italy, joining Udinese in 2004 with spells at Treviso, Lazio and Rimini before his sale to Inter in 2012.
Incredibly, Handanovic has never played in the Champions League and stuck with Inter even through very difficult times.
Leaving now just as the Nerazzurri qualified for the tournament would be a surprise move, but Napoli are also in Europe’s most prestigious competition.
Pepe Reina left as a free agent and has already signed for Milan, while Napoli have been linked with the likes of Rui Patricio at Sporting CP and Bayer Leverkusen’s Bernd Leno.
Today there were even suggestions in Spain that Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen was a target, but he has a €60m price-tag.
