Former QPR and Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock has offered his support to new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly's idea of a north versus south all-stars match.
The Blues boss thinks that the Premier League should host an American style all-stars match that pits the best players from the clubs in the north against ones in the south and that the money made from the fixture could help fund the rest of the footballing pyramid.
Despite many personalities in football suggesting that it is a bad idea and that there would be no room in the calendar for the match, Warnock has taken the opposite stance and insisted that if the money is going to charity, then it should go ahead.
While posting the message on Twitter, Warnock also used a picture on Game of Thrones lead character Jon Snow with his own face super-imposed over actor Kit Harrington's as he backs the north team to win a potential match-up.
He tweeted: 'Not sure the North v South game will happen, but if the money raised is for good causes, then why not? If it did happen though, there is only one winner!'
Football fans commented on Warnock's post also suggesting that there would be some support for the match, with one tweeting: 'If the money is raised for charity then I guess it's good.'
Another tweeted: 'Yes!! Warnock is king of the north.'
Some of the people commenting also suggested that Warnock should be offered the chance to manage the north team.
One tweeted: 'You’ve gotta be the north manager Neil surely … can just see it being played at Wembley .. “we’re in London aren’t we!!"'
Another said: 'If Neil is not the manager of team North there needs to be an inquiry.'
Premier League managers such as Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp and West Ham's David Moyes however have criticised the idea.
The Hammers boss said: 'I just don’t know where there is any more room for any more games in football. We play a Charity Shield at the start of the season, and I believe we give all of the money to charity.
'For us to have things like a north/south divide at the moment, I don’t think we need that.
'I think what we are trying to do is make our country one, and at the moment, we are trying to build better roads and better rail lines between the north and south, never mind putting two teams out against each other.'
Whereas the Reds manager joked and asked 'Does he [Boehly] want to bring the Harlem Globetrotters as well?'

As much as he thinks The north (City + Liverpool + United +Everton) will win against the South ( Chelsea + Arsenal + Tottenham + WHU) it's not true football is unpredictable and Chelsea FC beat the best Manchester city to have ever existed to win Uefa champions league trophy 🏆 and despite The South have got good players too

what's the divisiveness of country in getting the best team from those two areas of the country? Moye needs to understand Boehly is speaking in football perspective not political North Vs South thing. if he talk about the issue of game schedule taking player's health into consideration, then he has a point

Not hard at all. City will provide the stars from Manchester. It'll be between City and Liverpool for the South FC The North FC will be more contested between Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs.
