The club announced on Saturday that the New York Yankees president Randy Levine will be a new board member.
Randy Levine is one of the accomplished executives in the sports and entertainment industries and he has been the president of the New York Yankees for over 20 years. The former American attorney has been in charge of making the Major League Baseball side as one of the most important franchises around the world.
Under Randy Levine the Yankees have achieved on-field success, expanded commercial partnerships and continue to grow the brand all over the world. The former American attorney will continue to grow as an executive because on Saturday it was confirmed that he will be joining AC Milan’s board of directors.
Official statement from AC Milan
“The Club is delighted to welcome Randy Levine to the Board of Directors. Randy is a leading professional in sports and entertainment,” said the club’s chairman, Paolo Scaroni. “His experience and expertise will integrate with ours, contributing to the growth path of the Club and creating opportunities to expand its global appeal. The appointment of Randy will help us develop new synergies at a global level, in line with RedBird’s strategic vision, opening new horizons for the Club and its fans.”
“For over two decades, I have been fortunate to have a unique and successful partnership with the New York Yankees and the Steinbrenner Family, including most recently the Yankees’ investment alongside RedBird in AC Milan. I am thrilled to welcome Randy Levine to the Board of AC Milan and look forward to building a global collaboration between the Yankees and AC Milan,” added Scaroni.
Randy Levine was also in charge of changing the distribution of the Yankees game coverage through the YES network and partnered with the NFL team the Dallas Cowboys to create Legends Hospitality LLC in 2009. The announcement also comes months after the American investment firm RedBird Capital joined forces with the owners of the Yankees to acquire Milan for $1.24bn.

As a person from New York, the Yankees are the best franchise in baseball. The owner is great and a smart owner. I don’t think AC Milan has anything to worry about. And yes I’m from America but I know football ⚽️ very well, probably better than most Europeans
The problem as I see it is that American owners don’t have a clue about European football. I my self am a American and know the American sports very well as to what they strive to achieve. Unfortunately, American owners will only see soccer or AC Milan as nothing more then a high value stock and devise ways to make money out of it then to provide any lasting legacy to the team. I’ve yet to see American owners making such strides in Europe with there investments in football. The closest I can think of is Liverpool. There has to be a understanding of culture and history when American owners purchase a club and they lack both most of the time. Let’s see what happens.. who knows I may be wrong.
