The Champions League had turned into an easy ride for Bayern Munich in recent years, as the Bavarian side had gone on a 19-game unbeaten run since they lost to Liverpool 3-1 in the 2018/19 campaign.
Last season they even equalled the sextet of Pep Guardiola's Barcelona and became the first champion to win all their matches (11/11) in the competition.
There hadn't been a team that had scored as many goals as Bayern in the Champions League either, with a total of 43 goals scored, an average of 3.91 per game. Their 8-2 win against Barcelona went down as the highest winning margin in the history of the quarter-finals, too.
Bayern are hoping to defend their trophy this season, but Paris Saint-Germain have lessened their chances after their 3-2 win in the first leg at the Allianz Arena.
Despite losing the game, Bayern had 64 percent possession, 31 shots, 12 shots on target and 44 crosses in the opposition's area, statistics that would suggest they have a chance of turning things around in Paris.
"We need to score at least two goals; it won't be easy, but these are the games we play football for," said Hansi Flick.
"We would be delighted to have as many chances as we had in the first leg, but we need to be more precise," added Thomas Muller.
Mbappe and Neymar on the prowl
Kylian Mbappe's two goals and Neymar's two assists have already played a part in PSG's revenge from last season, and they'll look to complete the job on Tuesday night.
Mbappe is in great form and has scored eight goals in his last five Champions League games.
On the other hand, Neymar has been involved in more goals - he has scored 41 goals and provided 31 assists - than he has played in Champions League matches in his career (66).
Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that Marco Verratti and Alessandro Florenzi will be back in time, but he will be without captain Marquinhos for the second leg.
"Bayern are the best team in the world at the moment," said Pochettino.
"We must have a different attitude from the second leg of the Barcelona game; we can't just defend."
