Neymar has been brutally told he has a "zero per cent" chance of joining Manchester United this summer. Former Aston Villa captain Gabriel Agbonlahor has likened the superstar to Cristiano Ronaldo and says Erik ten Hag won't want a character like him at Old Trafford.
Neymar has been linked with a sensational switch to Old Trafford. The Red Devils' potential new owner Sheikh Jassim would reportedly attempt to sign the player if he completes a takeover of the club.
Ten Hag didn't do much to play down the rumours at his press conference on Wednesday. The Dutchman insisted: "When we have news, we will tell you" when asked about the possibility of signing the Paris Saint-Germain forward.
But Agbonlahor says there are too many similarities between Neymar and Ronaldo. Ten Hag got rid of Ronaldo earlier this season and the pundit says a player with the ego of Neymar is the last thing he needs.
Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: "These managers now, especially managers like Ten Hag, he went to Manchester United and he had a problem - Cristiano Ronaldo. Everyone knows how good Ronaldo is but his ego was embarrassing at times.
"When he got brought off he was sulking, throwing his arms up. Why would you go and bring in another big ego into a changing room that you've finally sorted out?
"[Anthony] Martial could be leaving because he's got problems as well with his ego and coming off and not acknowledging the manager in the last game. I just think why would you bring that problem into your team?
"You've got [Jadon] Sancho you want to get backfiring, you've got [Marcus] Rashford, you've got Antony who can hopefully have a better season next season. I just don't see it.
"And financially, he's on silly money at PSG. They're going to want a decent fee and his wages would be something silly as well, like £500,000 or £600,000 a week or whatever they're earning there.
"I just don't see it happening. I just don't think any club in the Premier League would bring that ego to their club."
Agbonlahor believes Neymar would immediately become a bigger figure at United than Ten Hag. He reckons that is another reason there is no chance a deal will happen.
He added: "These managers, look at Thomas Tuchel at PSG. He had Mbappe and Neymar, big, big egos and he couldn't get a tune out of them in the Champions League.
"These managers want to be the main man at their clubs. Ten Hag is now. There's no one bigger than the manager at Manchester United.
"You bring in Neymar, he's bigger than the manager. And he brings that problem of 'oh you're not starting me, I'm not tracking back, I'm not going to press'.
"All these things are just a problem you don't want. I just don't see that happening, zero per cent."

Neymar is not even interested in joining United. You are just using his name to make your own name. Neymar is not selfish but the media does the work to sell papers
