Neymar will renew until 2026 at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain are set to confirm the renewal of Neymar's contract on Saturday. The Brazilian will put pen to paper on a deal that will run until 2026.

Neymar's contract had been set to expire at the end of the 2021/22 season, as Kylian Mbappe's deal is. There had been some whispers that he was keen to return to Barcelona, not for the first time since his 2017 move to Paris.

According to L'Equipe, the debate is now over, and Neymar is staying put. What remains to be seen, though, is whether Mbappe follows suit and whether or not Lionel Messi joins his former teammate at the Parc des Princes.

It hasn't been easy to tie Neymar down, though. Barcelona even sent representatives to Paris last summer in an attempt to force an impossible more, but their finances meant it was never likely to happen.

Neymar has been happy in the French capital of late, and he has shown that, even stating his happiness ahead of the game against Manchester City, explaining that the club had grown since his arrival.

Mbappe's situaiton

L'Equipe also referred to the World Cup winner's position. They explained that talks with Mbappe are at a very different position to Neymar's, and his future remains uncertain.
