Neymar's new Santos wage has been revealed following the termination his £130million-per-year deal with Al-Hilal.

Neymar is set to make a highly anticipated return to his boyhood club, Santos FC, after mutually terminating his contract with Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal.

The 32-year-old Brazilian has agreed to a six-month contract with Santos, aiming to rejuvenate his career and secure a spot in Brazil's squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Financially, Neymar's new deal with Santos includes a base salary of approximately £135,507 (R$1 million) per month, complemented by up to 90 per cent of his image rights.

The structure for this deal mirrors the successful arrangement from his previous tenure at Santos between 2010 and 2013.

At that time, Neymar earned a base salary of £40,683 (R$300,000) but took home around £429,147 (R$3.3m) monthly, thanks to retaining 90 per cent of his image rights.

The club believes that, with advancements in the digital landscape, Neymar's earnings could now reach up to £819,433 (R$6 million) per month.

According to De Primeira via UOL Esporte, that would mean Neymar's base salary would account for 18 per cent of his total earnings per year.

Neymar's stint with Al-Hilal was marred by injuries, limiting him to just seven appearances and one goal over 17 months.

He suffered a serious knee injury, followed by a hamstring issue, which significantly impacted his playing time at the Saudi-based club.

Despite signing a £130m-per-year contract from Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar struggled to meet expectations in the Saudi Pro League.

As a result, he and the club decided to part ways - allowing Neymar to rejoin his boyhood club Santos.

'It is the time (to come back), Neymar. It is time for you to come back to your people. To our home, to the club in our hearts,' Santos president Marcelo Teixeira said.

'Welcome, our boy Ney! A boy of Vila (Belmiro, Santos' stadium). Come back to be happy again with the white and black shirt.'

Teixeira's video, posted to social media on Tuesday, finished by saying: 'The Santos nation awaits you with open arms.'

Teixeira went on to share footage of a teenage Neymar enjoying his days at the club as a teenager, with clips of him scoring and celebrating goals.

Santos are one of Brazil's grandest clubs having won eight national titles, 22 regional leagues in Sao Paulo, and three Copa Libertadores crowns.

Brazilian greats such as Pele, Carlos Alberto, Coutinho, Zito and many more have graced the Vila Belmiro down the years.

They have fallen on harder times in recent years, suffering relegation to the second tier in 2023, but bounced back last year.

No man has been nominated for a Ballon d'Or for their exploits with a Brazilian team since Neymar did it three times robed in the famous black and white stripes.
