According to English media reports, Liverpool's 17-year-old forward Ngumoha will leave the England training camp this week.
Ngumoha was not selected for England's 26-man squad, but he impressed Tuchel and his national teammates within the England squad. Last Saturday, England defeated New Zealand 1-0 in a World Cup warm-up match, with Ngumoha coming on as a substitute in the second half to make his debut and being named man of the match.
England will play their last pre-World Cup warm-up match against Costa Rica on Wednesday. It remains to be seen whether Tuchel will field Ngumoha again.
With the arrival of the Arsenal quartet Rice, Saka, Eze, and Madueke, the England coach will have a full squad to choose from.
England's starting lineup against Costa Rica is expected to be closer to the configuration for their first World Cup match against Croatia on Wednesday, June 17, although Arsenal players are unlikely to start.
So, will Ngumoha get another chance before he parts ways with the England squad?
Players on England's main roster will travel to the World Cup base in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday. Before that, they will have a closed training match with local team Miami United.
Ngumoha will first go on vacation and then join Liverpool for their pre-season tour to the United States next month.
The Liverpool attacker was one of five additional players brought by the England squad to the pre-World Cup training camp in Florida. Due to their participation in the Champions League final, several Arsenal players arrived later.
Ngumoha was originally only there for training, but Tuchel was very satisfied with his performance and decided to field him in the first warm-up match. This surprising decision ultimately paid off.
This performance also led to some claims that Ngumoha should have been considered by Tuchel earlier, either by being included in the final 26-man squad or by being the first choice substitute if any player were to be injured before the start of the tournament.
However, since Ngumoha was not included in Tuchel's initial 55-man World Cup provisional squad, he cannot be called up as an injury replacement.
Tuchel had previously refused to rule out the possibility of bringing the teenager in an interview in March, but then not including him in the expanded 55-man squad does seem somewhat perplexing.
Ultimately, when evaluating Ngumoha, the German coach had very few first-team samples and a very short time span.
The London-born forward has made history. At the age of 16, he scored the winning goal in the 100th minute against Newcastle, helping Liverpool to a 3-2 victory and becoming Liverpool's youngest ever goalscorer. However, he only started 10 times in the first team last season.
It is understood that Ngumoha was somewhat dissatisfied with his playing time under former Liverpool manager Slot.
So, if he gets more playing time, can he break into Tuchel's plans?
Slot and Liverpool would argue that they were simply protecting Ngumoha from the high physical and mental pressure of adult football too early. After all, this was the teenager's first full Premier League and Champions League season.
According to English media reports last week, several European clubs, including Bayern Munich, sensed an opportunity to take Ngumoha away from Anfield this summer.
However, Liverpool insists that Ngumoha will not be sold this summer, and Bayern also has other candidates on their transfer list.
If Ngumoha was unhappy with his playing time last season, the departure of Reds legend Salah and the arrival of Slot's successor, Iraola, might soothe his feelings.
The former Bournemouth manager is willing to use young players, with Kroupi, Rayan, and Dean Huijsen all being examples of the Spanish coach's trust in youngsters.
Liverpool hopes to ensure that by July, Ngumoha will make the same impression on the new club manager as he did on the national team manager.
Ngumoha has long been regarded as one of English football's most promising young stars. When England begins their Nations League campaign in September, he will be confident of working with Tuchel again.
