According to Spanish media outlet Cadena COPE, Nico Williams, Yamal, and Víctor Muñoz will not travel with the Spanish national team to Puebla for the friendly match against Peru.
The report states that with the World Cup fast approaching, the Spanish national team completed their final training session on Sunday at their Chattanooga base before the friendly against Peru. However, Nico Williams, Yamal, and Víctor Muñoz did not participate in the team's joint training session as they are still recovering from muscle injuries.
In fact, the three players were already absent from the previous friendly against Iraq. Although Yamal and Nico Williams briefly participated in the warm-up and Rondo drills during Saturday's training, none of them appeared on the pitch with their teammates during Sunday's open training session. Víctor Muñoz also continued his individual recovery.
The Spanish coaching staff has decided that the three will not travel with the team to Puebla, Mexico, for the friendly match against Peru, but will remain at the Chattanooga training base to continue their rehabilitation. Therefore, the Spanish squad for this match will consist of 23 players out of the 26 national team members.
