Nigeria release the official team picture for the 2018 Russia World Cup

The Super Eagles will be participating in the quadrennial football tournament for the sixth time with the hope of breaking their second round jinx

Nigeria have released the official team picture for the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.

The portrait featured 17 team officials in green shirts and 23 players in white shirts.

Majority of the backroom staff and coaching crew sat in the front row while the players formed the second and third rows, standing.

The Super Eagles started their preparation for the global football fiesta in Russia with 30 players before Junior Lokosa, Uche Agbo, Stephen Eze, Dele Ajiboye and Moses Simon [injury] were dropped.

Following the country's 2-1 defeat to England on June 2, Ola Aina and Mikel Agu were axed to arrive at the final 23-man squad that will fly Nigeria's flag at the World Cup.

Gernot Rohr's side will be aiming to start their 2018 World Cup adventure on a winning note when they take on Croatia at the Kaliningrad Stadium on June 16.
