The midfielder came on to play an important role in Arsenal's 4-2 win over Tottenham, but the Gunners coach says they will not offer him a new deal
Unai Emery says Arsenal's contract negotiations with Aaron Ramsey remain "closed" despite being impressed with the midfielder's form and focus.
Wales international Ramsey claimed he was ready to pen a new deal when the Gunners withdrew their offer of an extension earlier this year.
The 27-year-old is a free agent at the end of the season with Bayern Munich, who could table a pre-contract agreement as early as January, believed to be the frontrunners for his signature.
Ramsey came off the bench at half-time against Tottenham on Sunday and helped instigate the come-from-behind 4-2 victory, leading to fresh calls for Arsenal to reopen talks.
"Two months ago we spoke together, both for his moment, his present and future. I think it was a very good conversation," Emery said.
"I said to you also here in the press conference that I want his focus only on the team, on giving us his performances.
"His present is as I want, and his future is very important for him and his family.
"I think in the last matches his focus [is there]. We were speaking between us [the coaches] and I look at him in every match.
"His focus is positive for us, it helps us. He needs to think about his future, for his family and for him. If he plays like [in the north London derby], it's the best for him and the best for us."
But while he is pleased with Ramsey's recent contribution, Emery indicated there had no been change to the contract impasse.
"This conversation is not for today, for us or for me," he added.
"It's one situation that was closed one or two months ago.
"At the moment the most important thing is he's smiling, he has the commitment, the behaviour and the performances like yesterday - that's the best for him and for us."

arsenals loss will be another clubs gains.. you don't buy the epl experience this guy has aND his loyalty and commitment with the talent for any price... they have been calling him from the bench to change games once his gone, they won't have such advantage...

Aaron Ramsey deserve a new contract. Unai, don't let him go please. I have faith that he will remain an Arsenal's player. He served for Arsenal for so long and he likes Arsenal

Well is better late than never, we are in this situation because of Arsene Wenger and Ramseys greed. i believe if u want to be a top earner you have to win something special for the team Ramsey has been our best player but we all know how English players become unreliable. The best thing now ia arsenal to swallow their pride and offer him a deal but if it does not work out we have good replacementa from the academy. Arsenal forever

I think Ramsey has improved so much and has become more experienced. He has been Arsenal, even during their hard times. Giving away an experienced player to rival clubs has negative concequences. Keep him!

Have been very impressed with Emery so far but think this situation is a mistake, Rambo is our longest serving player of 10 years, experience is invaluable and to sign a player of his calibre will cost us £40-50 million. He might not be defensive minded but his work rate, skill, passion, goals and assists are unquestionable. He won us the FA cup on two occasions by scoring the winning goal. To let him go is one thing but to lose him for nothing is a stupid decision and if he goes to another premier league team it will come back to haunt us. Give him a contract and make him captain otherwise you will upset a lot of supporters who love him.

it's not fair at all. letting him go is a huge loss for us gunners.he was a key player and still is. he has the most assists despite coming off the bench at most times,,,, he should stay

players at times make wage demands that are not near their team contributions. he refused a number of offers. I love arsenal because they give players time to play. these players should learn from those that demanded huge wages beyond the their team contributions they left. start with Sanchez, he enjoyed every minute at arsenal, song, van Persie, sagna where are they? they destroyed their own football careers. do not make unreasonable wage demands, the club is bigger than anyone. arsenal was not winning that's why Sanchez left for the bench at man United.

If Ramsey continues to show good sport man ship and plays well- making assists and goals - It would be unreal for Arsenal to not extend his contract. Arsenal, under Unai, wants the players to show them that they belong at Arsenal- meaning they want 100% commitment. If you show no effort or you play your heart out one game and are non existent on the pitch the next 3 matches then how does that help the club? It doesn't! That's why Ozil is benched. Ozil played great against Leceister city and against the wolves it was like he wasn't playing. You can't have that! That's why Man City is so good- then give you 100% all the time even when they are down in the match , they find ways to make goals and win on top. The gunners will get there with or without Ramsey or Ozil or anyone else that doesn't give 100%. Gunners for life!!!
