According to Italian media, the Juventus player knows that he is not going to win the best player vote and only one of the podium three will be in Paris.
The winner of the 2018 Ballon d'Or will be Real Madrid's Luka Modric and because of this, Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo will not attend the ceremony. This is what Sky Italia reported on Friday.

According to the Italian network, Cristiano finished the vote in second place with Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann coming in third. Out of the three, it would appear that only the Croatian will actually be at the glitzy awards in person.
The event takes place at the Grand Palais in Paris at 9:30pm CET. As well as the results for the men's vote, the women's award will be handed once again to Brazilian Marta, while the Kopa Trophy, for the best young player, will go to PSG's Kylian Mbappe.

Why Modric?????? When in 2010 , Messi won Ballon d'Or, then there was Iniesta who should win because he also won WC whereas Modric didn't win WC he merely played in the final. But Ronaldo performed better than Modric in UCL and WC too. You may check their stats. FIFA make me disappointed thrice :- 1. By giving Puskas Award to Salah. 2. By giving UEFA men player award. 3. And now they gonna give Ballon d'Or to Modric, the most prestigious individual prize.

So i don’t believe in these trophies anymore ! They score 50+ every year... and they continue even until now to improve game after game! Modric? Really? Why? People are Just shouting Ronaldo deserves it, or Messi deserves it. As a Messi Fan, the If Ronaldo or Messi is not getting the Award then it should go to Griezman. The Only Major Trophy Modric won was UCL, Griezman Won Uefa SuperCup against Modric and He also Won the World Cup against Modric. The Person being Robbed here is Griezman. Modric has being Compensated with Fifa best player and Euro best award. Why not Leave this one for the Man Who has Fought for Athletico Madrid over the years, Griezman. I am so very disappointed in C.Ronaldo's behavior in not attending the Ballon d' oro ceremony..not only is he being a sour loser but he is also not showing Luka Modric the support and respect he deserves..and this coming from a true cr7 fan..it just bothers me to witness this type of actions..I understand ge might be disappointed for not beating Messi but COME ON, Modric is his former team mate..just wanted to express my thoughts real quick.

in 2013 frank Ribery won triple with bayern and real madrid and ronaldo were humiliated by dortmund in 4-1 defeat. barca won laliga and atletico won copa del rey. ronaldo finished the season with no trophy but he won ballon dor for no reason. if you want to talk about goals and assists, then messi should have won ballon dor in the last three years and if you think football is just goals and assists then you know nothing about football.
