The Africa Cup of Nations will revert to its former time slot of January and February for the next edition in 2021, hosts Cameroon said on Wednesday.
The Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) revealed that the tournament will be played from January 9 to February 6, 2021, on their request due to concerns about the weather.
The tournament was moved to a June-July slot for last year's first 24-team edition in Egypt, in large part to avoid clashing with the European club season.
That means it'll be in the middle of the Premier League season.
It means Salah, Mane, Aubameyang, Zaha, Ndidi, Mahrez etc could miss up to 6 Premier League games next season.

The average temperature for Cameroon is cooler in Jun/Jul compared Jan/Feb. So what is the problem to have it hosted during Jun/Jul when Europe's big leagues are also on the off season. African leaders are so stupid and short sighted. Besides this having a huge impact on the teams needing to give up their players during an important part of the season..... It is also going to have a huge impact on their African stars. The big clubs are not going to be willing to invest in African players if they will be losing them for 2 months during the season so this effectively stunts the growth of the African players to compete in the biggest leagues playing for the biggest clubs.

well they always played in winter before except for last cub. it is only English clubs will suffer not European. the rest of the continent do have winter break. and remember in 2020 the world cup will be played in winter too. solution help should start and give winter break. nations world cup, clubs world cub, and now again African cup all will be played in winter and epl is not bigger than them

Unless the imbroligio, the present impasse is checked it is really sad for them to put peoples life in harms way.
