Spaniard wins third managerial prize after fine start to Premier League season
Mikel Arteta has been named Barclays Manager of the Month for August, winning the award for the third time.
The 40-year-old became only the second Arsenal manager after Arsene Wenger to start a season with five straight Premier League victories.
The Gunners began the campaign with a 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace before beating Leicester City 4-2 at Emirates Stadium. A 3-0 success at AFC Bournemouth kept the run going and Arteta's side closed out the month with back-to-back 2-1 home wins over Fulham and Aston Villa.
Their strong start to the season propelled them to the top of the table with a maximum 15 points.
Arteta's latest Manager of the Month award follows his previous successes in September 2021 and March 2022.
He claimed his latest prize, beating Antonio Conte, Pep Guardiola, Graham Potter and Marco Silva, after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of experts.

A deserved award that nobody can complain against Arteta. If Arsenal keep fighting and maintain the current form, I won't guarantee Man City to lift PL trophy again. Please, let's appreciate what Arteta did for Arsenal.
