Arsenal confirm that Arteta tested positive for COVID & will miss Arsenal match against Man City.
The club stated on the official website:
Mikel Arteta will miss our match against Manchester City on New Year's Day after testing positive for COVID-19.
Mikel is isolating in line with Government guidelines and we wish him well.
The Spaniard previously tested positive for the virus in March 2020, shortly before English football was shutdown amid the spread of Covid.
It is expected that Albert Stuivenberg or Steve Round will take charge of Arsenal in Arteta's absence.
After facing City, Arsenal take on Liverpool in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals on January 6, so Arteta will be hoping to be back in time for this fixture.

Manchester United finished 2nd last season With a fit to win the League, they reinforced their squad by signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Varane. First game, they defeated Leeds United 5-1 and we're looking threatening and ready to win the League. First, a group of young boys cut down their wings. Fast forward to December, they are 7 points behind Arsenal 😅
