FC Barcelona and Valencia CF have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jeison Murillo for the remainder of the 2018/19 season. The agreement includes a purchase option worth €25m.
The presentation ceremony is scheduled for next Thursday, December 27. Details forthcoming.
Colombian is an experienced defender
Born on May 27, 1992 in Cali, Colombia, Jeison Murillo was trained at Deportivo Cali in his hometown until he was 18 years old. The leap to European football was made when he signed for Udinese, although he played on loan for the first season at Granada’s academy.
After that campaign at the Andalusian club, Murillo went to Cádiz and Las Palmas, respectively, for the next two seasons. His good performances served to earn him a place in the first team at Granada during 2013/14, and he would stay there, also for two seasons.
Inter were one of several European clubs that had tracked Murillo during that period, and he would go on to sign for the Italian team, where he played two campaigns.
Murillo then arrived at Valencia on loan, but with a compulsory purchase option that they eventually exercised, the player therefore representing Los Che since the 2017/18 campaign.
He is a player with experience in international football, for the Colombian team. Murillo played in the Copa America in 2015 and 2016, and in the latter, his country finished in third place.

Very good. At least we can take a break and breath. we can't only rely on Pique and leglet since Umtiti is out for while because of injury. Thanks to the management team.

Replacing Kompany with Vermalen or Bale with Reus. All injury probe, is he coming to replace Vermeleen? Anyways i wish you good luck at Barcelona i pray you prove doubters like me wrong and earn a contract at Barca. I really wish our youth players start getting the chance they deserve.

Why not give chance our LA Masia academy players? It's time to expose them, no need to sign a new players. If they didn't give chance a young players to play, forever they can't show they talent. Barca must learn from Ajax Amsterdam who always give a young players a chance to prove they talent. Half of they main eleven team starters are young players.

Loaned, not purchased. The club is not in a position to buy another South American right now, the spaces are all taken. Perhaps next summer when Suarez will move on.

Jeison Murillo is a decent emergency signing. IMO I would have kept Yerry Mina but he’s gone and there’s no reason to dwell on that. Murillo is a stopgap which will allow us to pursue other young promising talents in the summer (hopefully De Ligt)

I hope this doesn't block our deal for de ligt in the summer. It should simply be a loan deal. This is the guy we want to see.
