OFFICIAL: Dani Ceballos is out for 2 months with an injury to the semimembranosus muscle
Dani Ceballos has suffered an injury to the semimembranosus muscle with involvement of the tendon in his left leg.
He’s gonna miss the two games against Atlético Madrid in Champions League.
Dani Ceballos is expected to be out for 2 months.
Spanish media reports have since suggested he could be out for up to two months, which would mean he misses much of the LaLiga run-in and a Champions League last-16 tie against Atletico Madrid.
In a medical update posted to their social media accounts on Thursday, Madrid said: "Following tests carried out today on Dani Ceballos by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the semimembranosus muscle affecting the tendon in his left hamstring.
"His recovery will be assessed."
Ceballos has played 31 games in all competitions this season, with 16 of those appearances being starts.
Only on two occasions – in 2022-23 (46) and 2018-19 (34) – has he played more matches for Madrid in a single campaign.

Just when his career was flying... Man had a wholesome resurgence, from being a player Madrid wanted to sell quickly to being a reliable Toni Kroos like player. Speedy recovery lad, this truly is a setback.🙏🏾

Real Madrid often gets labeled as complainers when it comes to refereeing decisions, but last night's match was a clear example of why their frustrations are justified. The challenge that left Ceballos injured was shockingly ignored, and instead of addressing the situation, the referees allowed the player to writhe in pain while the Real Sociedad staff and crowd unfairly accused him of faking it. It's disappointing to see such blatant decisions overlooked, and even more frustrating that Madrid had to play the final four minutes of injury time with a man down. Referees need to do better—these kinds of mistakes are ruining the integrity of the game.

Shame on those punks for saying good news. Are your lives really that empty that you find pleasure in someone getting hurt?
