OFFICIAL: Dortmund sign Aaron Anselmino from Chelsea on loan

 Borussia Dortmund has loaned Argentine U20 international Aaron Anselmino from FC Chelsea.

Borussia Dortmund have reacted to the tense personnel situation in central defence by loaning Aaron Anselmino, an Argentine U20 international, from Chelsea. The 20-year-old's loan is limited until 30 June 2026.

"Due to the injuries to Emre Can, Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Süle, we were forced to make adjustments in the centre-back position. Aaron Anselmino has already gained first-division experience in his home country and has great potential. It is no coincidence that Chelsea FC gave him an extremely long-term contract last summer," said Borussia Dortmund managing director Lars Ricken.

"We watched Aaron during his days at Boca Juniors. It is a very good solution in our current situation. A talented player who has proven his quality at a young age in very emotional stadiums. We will now integrate him quickly because we need him immediately and are looking forward to seeing Aaron in the Black & Yellow jersey this season," said BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl.

Anselmino, who will wear the number 28 shirt for the Black & Yellows, successfully completed the obligatory medical check yesterday and could make his debut at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK next weekend in the home game against Union Berlin. "I'm really looking forward to Borussia Dortmund and will give everything to be successful with this big club and its great fans," said the young Argentine.
