Borussia Dortmund have signed Paco Alcacer from Barcelona, agreeing a deal to keep him at the club until 2023.
The 25-year-old, who moved to Dortmund on a season-long loan in the summer, has put pen to paper on a contract through to 30 June 2023.
Alcacer struggled to make an impact during his two-season stint with Barcelona, but has made a blistering start to his Dortmund career. The former Valencia and Getafe man set a new Bundesliga record by bringing up his eighth goal in just 218 minutes on the pitch against Bayern Munich on Matchday 11, and is currently averaging a goal every 29 minutes.
Alcacer's rich vein of form earned him his first call-up to the Spain national team in almost two years. His purple patch continued as he started the 11 October friendly against Wales, scoring twice. The goals were his first for his country since he netted twice against Luxembourg in September 2015.

Barca couldn't bargain on a player who didn't have enough playing time or goals to show, so naturally they would have to sell at a lower price or loan them. Now selling or loaning is a gamble and in Paco's case it's a loss for Barca. Hope they insert a buy back clause, but then they will have to pay through their noses if Paco puts on a terrific show with Dortmund.

What can we say? I guess it was our stupidity to give him away. He is an amazing player with a whole load of talent that lights the pitch when he is playing. I wish him good luck in his upcoming matches and I hope he'll at least remember barca in his dreams ([Cry][Cry]) Nice job man....ur just amazing. #upcominglegend

Dortmund bought Dembele for only 15 million euros and sold it in 105 million euros. Barca bought Alcacer for 30 million euros and sold it for almost the same amount. If Alcacer continues like this then Dormund will sell him for who knows 80 million to another big club after 2-3 seasons as he is only 24. Dortmund is doing great business.

Barcelona's worse mistake.....instead of selling him....dembele could have been better....personally...I think Barca's coach cannot bring out the best in players......he just makes use of already made players and leave the ones coming up to rot......dembele is a good example...he is not trying to bring the best out of him.....paco good job......make a difference and let barca regret their decision

Bit in the end of day it was a good thing to be done. why to keep at home someone who you don't have place to put. there were no space for Alcacer, and for his good he is better at Dortmund. why to private star of shining it self? keep doing it there dud... I'm Catalan but I'm happy with Alcacer at Dortmund

I don’t see anything wrong on selling Paco to Dortmund.. As Barca given immense chances but he was not able to show he was competitive for Suarez pos.. But when he gone to Bundesliga there he got quick adaptation..nothing wrong on selling.. Now same is gonna happen for Dennis Suarez we will sell him to Arsenal he will utilize that chance

major blow for barca..i will turn my back against barca after messi retirement. coz they are forgeting their style of play. Its coz of that style i started loving this club. Barca should get someone who can have a look at lamasia as coach. Guardiola made mancity play like old barca. Now im love the style of their of play and love to watch them. Its entertains me morethan barca matchess now. Its so sad to say this but i miss my barca. Current barca is only a shadow . Get guardiola back from city. Spend big to get him and not on players.

I'm gonna go with a different look at it. What if Paco ends up a 1 seasoner? I mean look at all the young players that Barca let go, most of them flop anyway. I can imagine Paco turning out like Belotti with 1 good season then becomes your average striker with 15- 20 goals a season. Right now he could get about 35-45 with his current form. I think personally Barca lost in the short term but could have won in the long term. I'm sure no one will agree with this but it's just how I see it. Barca wouldn't let go of someone who they see as an insane player in the long run. These are professionals that judge if a player is worth releasing or keeping....
