OFFICIAL: Florenzi has retired from professional football after leaving AC Milan

Italian defender Alessandro Florenzi announces his retirement from professional football at 34 years old after leaving AC Milan.

Alessandro Florenzi leaves ACMilan after 4 years and 2 trophies at the club.

Florenzi said:  

"You taught me how to love all fans, from the first to the last without exception.

Each one of you has driven me to improve and each of you has helped me to recover from the falls that are part of this sport as well as life: I am very grateful to you.

I would like to thank every partner, coach, staff and manager, no one excluded: day after day, your support and professionalism have enabled me to grow up as a man and as a football player.

Thank you, ale, for seeing something special in that little guy in the middle of camp 17 years ago. You and the wsa family have been, are and always will be an essential part of my life, not just football.

Finally, I would like to thank all those who have accompanied me on this long journey, and in particular all the people who work quietly behind the scenes: each of you has left a mark on me. Without you I wouldn't be the person I am today.
