Goalkeeper Keylor Navas arrives at Pumas. One of the most recognized and successful goalkeepers in the world will defend the goal of the university team from this Apertura 2025 tournament.

At a press conference held at the Ingeniero Guillermo Aguilar Álvarez, Jr. ("la Cantera") Facilities, Dr. Luis Raúl González Pérez, president of the Club Universidad Nacional, was in charge of presenting it, accompanied by Dr. Miguel Mejía Barón, sports vice president, and Eduardo Saracho, director of Sports Strategy of the Club.

Keylor Navas commented that the decision to join Pumas was simple: "I knew the affection and enthusiasm, they transmitted to me the desire to be able to belong to this club. It is a big club in Mexico and I believe that any player who is presented with this opportunity should not miss it. And today it is a reality and we are very happy here."

In that sense, he recounted the reasons for coming to Pumas: "Today we feel at peace, calm, very happy to represent this great institution. Knowing that we can be close to our family is super important to us and that motivates us a lot. I think the level of the league is growing a lot, it's a competitive league, the infrastructure is quite good. We chose it because we thought we could come to a club where we can fight for titles, which for me is important, and that the club is also committed to the players so that their development grows. Those are the things that led us to make this decision."

And about the technical director, Efraín Juárez, he said: "It is a privilege to be able to have him as a coach. In the conversations I've had with him, you can tell that he has things very clear, he has knowledge both on and off the pitch to be able to help the club."

He spoke about the atmosphere he found in the team and about goalkeeper Rodrigo Parra, who played in the two most recent games: "In the team they received me very well, you can see that there is a pretty good human group. I had the opportunity to train with (Rodrigo) Parra, I already had the opportunity to talk to him. I'm going to be there to help him, he's a very young boy, with a very big talent. I tell him that in the low moments we don't have to feel the worst, we have to have stability, know who we really are, make an effort, work and the result in the end will always come."

Finally, he indicated what his immediate goals are: "In life, one has to live with dreams, with illusions, with long-term and short-term goals. I come with all the desire to always give my best, to make an effort, to help my teammates, to be one more, to try to be on the field and to be able to play in the best way. We have the mentality of making history and that's what we like: to make history and that we can lift a title."
