OFFICIAL: Giorgio Chiellini has announced retirement from professional football

Former Juventus and Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini has confirmed his retirement by posting an Instagram video with some of the best moments of his career.

The news broke on Tuesday morning that Chiellini had decided to end his playing career and the 39-year-old has now confirmed his decision through his official Instagram and X accounts.

Chiellini spent the last two seasons at LAFC, winning one MLS title last term.“You have been the most beautiful and intense journey of my life,” wrote the former No.3.

“You have been my everything. With you, I have travelled a unique and unforgettable path. But now it is time to start new chapters, face new challenges and write further important and exciting pages of life.”

Chiellini scored 27 goals in 430 Serie A matches, winning nine Scudetti with the Bianconeri.
