Chelsea have completed the signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus with the 31-year-old joins the club on loan for the rest of the season.
The 31-year-old joins the club on loan for the rest of the season with the view to a second loan next term in the cost of €18 million. Chelsea can acquire the registration rights of the Argentina star on a permanent basis for € 36 million to be paid in two financial years.
Higuain spent the first half of the campaign on loan at AC Milan where he scored eight goals.
A proven goalscorer throughout his career, and an Argentina international, Higuain arrives with a wealth of experience at the highest level having consistently shown his attacking quality during spells in Argentina, Spain and Italy.
Clinical in and around the penalty area, as well as providing a strong aerial threat, Higuain previously played under Maurizio Sarri at Napoli in 2015/16, when he finished as top scorer in Serie A with 36 goals, breaking a long-standing Italian record.
Upon completing his loan move to Chelsea, Higuain, who will wear the number nine shirt, said: ‘When the opportunity to join Chelsea presented itself I had to take it. It’s a team I’ve always liked that has a lot of history, a wonderful stadium and they play in the Premier League, a league I’ve always wanted to play in.
‘I now hope I can give back that trust Chelsea have shown me out on the pitch. I can’t wait to start and I hope to adapt as soon as possible.’
Director Marina Granovskaia added: ‘Gonzalo was our number one target in this transfer window and arrives with a proven record at the highest level. He has previously worked with Maurizio to great effect and is familiar with how the coach likes to play.
‘This was not an easy deal for us to do because of the numerous parties involved, but we are delighted we were able to make it happen and we look forward to seeing the impact Gonzalo will make for us in the second half of the season.’

please I don't want to hear any complains after this. If higuain doesn't deliver, please just accept the fate. Because Chelsea team do not actually play for their strikers. Only fabregas did and he's gone. I hope there's a change this time. if not, we'll see same results. Thank you

Chelsea have soon Bingo club where old players play bingo and drink tee. Seriously this can't be truth. Christensen is our new generation and new Terry. They should also bring Zouma back from loan. And play them more they are future. We have many players 30+who are 1,2years Max in Chelsea and gone. We should focus on our team and build a team for next 5-7season. I can anderstant if hazard leaves also. Becose he can see Chelsea ain't trying to bring players to build a team whit young, fast, good, talents who make goals assist who runs and wants to win who wants to make goals and win trophies. Can't believe Chelsea make mistake after mistakes. I steed to KEAP talents and build Chelsea for next 5-7season. They sell and bring old players who are not worth 10-20mil.

Well we needed a striker that's hungry, now we got Higuain and boy is he hungry. Let's hope it's for goals this time and not food. Jokes aside, he's a good short term option till we get our priorities sorted and sign some top players in the summer, prefebly a top forward.... Let's hope Icardi is still available then....

Chelsea has signed Heguain but I don't think it's the actual the answer to their problems. Instead the following has to be looked it: 1. Sarri has to look on the outside of the old box of players he has worked before and go in for younger and inform players if he really means to improve Chelsea. A much younger and inform striker looked sensible to have been brought in. 2. He needs to restore Kante to his original position and shift Jorgihno or even leave him on the bench. Kante can still play like Fenandinho of Man City or Busquets of Barcelona and Chelsea can not only play beautiful football but also both defend and attack well where Jorgihno has been very terrible 3. Hazard and William has to learn to release to balls faster into the box and also try the crosses in. Morata has been poor but the style of these men had not also helped me because their delay on the balls mostly leave him in no man's land or already I'll disposed when the ball finally gets on to him 5. Sarri looks like a stubborn man who wants his Sarri ball to be played at all cost. He has to adapt, look outside is what seem like a constant starting 11, reshape his holding midfielde and avoid his looks like regular pattern of substituting certain players n certain positions.

The fact that rival fans are saying nasty things about this deal, is an indication that they are worried about Higuain.. Higuain is surely gonna do better than Giroud and Morata.. He IS NOT injury prone.. He is both good in the air and on the ground.. He is both Giroud and Morata summed up in one.. I'm glad he is here because a player of Higuain's quality will be very difficult to sign in a January transfer window.. We are the blues!! the most successful English club since Abramovich Era (New Chelsea).. We are the only London club to have lifted the Champions League trophy! And the last English club to have won it also.. HELLO HATERS!!!
