The Spaniard wins award for second year running after retaining the Premier League title with Manchester City
Pep Guardiola has been named the Barclays Manager of the Season after guiding Manchester City to consecutive Premier League titles.
Guardiola, who also won last season's award, was announced as the 2018/19 recipient at the League Managers Association annual awards dinner on Tuesday evening.
The Spaniard's team were crowned champions on the final day thanks to a 4-1 victory at Brighton & Hove Albion which took them to 98 points, the second-most ever reached in a PL season behind only the 100 they themselves managed last term.
In beating runners-up Liverpool by one point Guardiola became only the third manager in PL history to retain the title, after Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho.
"It’s an honour to receive this award," Guardiola told the dinner in a video message.
"I want to share it with my players because they are the artists of everything, to my staff because we fought a lot [against] all the managers in the Premier League, especially Jurgen Klopp, an incredible contender to face till the end.
"It was a pleasure to play against all of them and hopefully do big, big battles again to win an incredible title."
The 48-year-old beat fellow nominees Nuno Espirito Santo, Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of football experts to decide the winner.

It baffles when people criticised others even down to issues of personal decisions. 1. How can we claim Pep goes to club where there's money 2. The issue of the best players to play his style of football Note Pep did not just wake up to become a football manager. But as a trainee from the la messia accedemy. This man has seen and has been able to uncover factors that can hinder a successful Carrier in football. Life in general will not respect your efforts to success if you do not uncover factors that can hinder you. After all, we've been seeing other managers who made demands of so much, but achieve so little, to the point that the club keep going on a consecutive deficit balance

Let’s all take a moment and appreciate Jurgen Klopp. He took over mediocre Liverpool and transformed them to one of the best football sides in the world. 👏

when he was coming they say he cannot win anything in England. after the first trophiless season the said he thinks he is in Spain and Germany that he has not seen anything yet. In his season he won the league with a lot of records broken and set. the 3rd season they said he can't win back to back. he prove them wrong, now they are saying I can't win champions league, he will still prove you guys wrong next season by winning the champions league.

Well deserved, Klopp and Pep has been on a different level from the other managers in the league, u can say they have spent a lot, but you can also see the improvements the players who were there before had undergone, plus it's not easy to actually get the rights players that fit your philosophy, I've been impressed with Klopp more however given the team he inherited..... But the two are great

Congratulations to the best coach of this era. Only a fool or a low life will hate him, he has paid his dues and deserve all the glory. To win the league back to back with the numbers is crazy, to come from 7 points down twice to win the league is outrageous. To be able to win a league with injure plagued squad. Kevin, kompany, fernadinho, Aguero, mendy, Gundogan, stones, bravo, all had major injuries but still was above to have 32 wins out of 38, 98 points, highest goal scored better goal difference, second best defence with 20 clean sheet against 21 clean sheets. What more do you want

Congrats to Pep but I think that Klopp and the Wolves manager deserved it more especially Klopp. Klopp made a great game and season for Liverpool, he made them have one of the greatest seasons in life even though they didn't win and the Wolverhampton manager (sorry I forgot his name lol) did beat all of the top teams so he really deserves an appreciation

Pep never goes to a team where there is no money......he always go where he will be able to buy the best....i mean the best players to play his style of football....where other coaches like Klopp use what they fine at the club and try to get the best out of them....that is what you call a good coach.....
