On May 29, Bayern Munich officially announced the signing of Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen on a free transfer. The central defender has signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2029, and will wear the number 4 shirt.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen stated:
"We're very pleased to welcome Jonathan Tah to FC Bayern. As an experienced international and top-level player, he brings stability and strength to our team. He will strengthen our defense significantly. He's a real asset, and he's proven he knows how to win titles."
Sporting Director Max Eberl added:
"We've been keeping an eye on him for a long time—this is no secret. We value his qualities, and he's someone who takes responsibility. Jonathan had many offers, but he ultimately chose Bayern. We're very happy about that."
Jonathan Tah: "It was a great feeling to see the shirt with my name and number. I'm very much looking forward to wearing it for the first time during a game."
