Mahamadou Diawara (20) has completed a move to Belgian Pro League side Royal Antwerp, Olympique Lyonnais have confirmed.
Diawara joined Lyon after leaving Paris Saint-Germain’s academy back in 2019. However, he has failed to establish himself and spent last season on loan at Le Havre AC. Whilst he played a part in keeping Les Ciel et Marines in the top-flight, it has not convinced OL to retain him for the current campaign; he is yet to play a single minute of football for Les Gones this season.
He has now completed a move to Belgium on transfer deadline day. The midfielder has joined on a season-long loan, with Royal Antwerp paying a €250,000 loan fee. They also have the option to make the move permanent for €3m at the end of the season, whilst Les Gones have also included a 20% sell-on clause.
