On July 17, Manchester City officially announced the signing of Norwegian midfielder Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg. The 18-year-old has signed a contract with the Premier League champions until 2030.
Nypan made his senior debut for Rosenborg at just 15 years old and has since demonstrated his versatility, capable of playing as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, or even as a forward. He made 70 competitive appearances for Rosenborg, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists. On the international stage, Nypan has represented Norway at every youth level from U15 to U21, earning 38 caps and scoring 4 goals.
The Norwegian talent becomes City’s fifth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Rayan Aït-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders, and Marcus Bettinelli.
According to earlier media reports, the transfer fee for Nypan is believed to be around €15 million (approximately £13 million).
