Ole's at the wheel! Manchester United officially announce that current caretaker manager and former striker, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, has been appointed as the club’s full-time manager on a three-year contract.
Solskjær scored 126 goals in 366 appearances for United between 1996 and 2007 and also managed the club’s reserve team until the end of 2010. He was appointed caretaker manager on 19 December 2018 and won his first eight games in charge on the way to an overall record of 14 victories and two draws in 19 games, amassing more Premier League points than any other club during that time.
“From the first day I arrived, I felt at home at this special club,” said Solskjær. “It was an honour to be a Manchester United player, and then to start my coaching career here. The last few months have been a fantastic experience and I want to thank all of the coaches, players and staff for the work we’ve done so far. This is the job that I always dreamed of doing and I’m beyond excited to have the chance to lead the club long-term and hopefully deliver the continued success that our amazing fans deserve.”
Ed Woodward, Executive Vice Chairman, comments: “Since coming in as caretaker manager in December, the results Ole has delivered speak for themselves.
“More than just performances and results, Ole brings a wealth of experience, both as a player and as a coach, coupled with a desire to give young players their chance and a deep understanding of the culture of the club. This all means that he is the right person to take Manchester United forward.
“I want to thank Ole and the coaching team for everything they have done so far and congratulate him on this richly deserved appointment. The fans and everyone at the club are behind him as he looks to take us where we need to be and build the next stage of our history.”

After a manager is sacked, players tend to do well. Play their hearts out just to prove that all should have been was it not for the bad manager they had previously... The team mostly gets to a good start at that point to an extent. After the fuss dies down, what next?? it takes only a Genius to propel the team consistently. It was the case with Julen Lopetegui, Santiago Solari, Thierry Henry to mention but a few. Zineden Zidane proved it's still possible to get good results after a long run of bad results. Ole Gunner, every football fan wishes you well. congrats 🎉 but I will still watch Barcelona kick you out of the Champions league[byebye]

What annoys me is that AGAIN they have not interviewed multiple candidates to make a decision. Moyes came in and no-one else got a look in, that was a disaster, Van Gaal got the job but I can't remember anyone else being considered, Mourinho got the job unopposed and now Solskjaer gets the job with no-one else interviewed. Every time the decision was the wrong one and I fear the inability to consider all the options before reaching a decision will haunt them again. The timing is also poor given Solskjaer has lost the last 2 games, is this a wobble or the wheels falling off? I know a majority of fans wanted Solskjaer to be appointed but I've seen too many poor appointments since Fergie left to be anything other than sceptical

man u will wine English premier league next season if not they will be second . if United hard started season with Ole by now it would be around 73-79 point's man u lost points under Jose and it's unbelievable .basing on that man u will excel next season many small clubs this season got free point when they were playing man u and it wouldn't have been the case if Ole was in charge .the moment u accept to be defeated by small club's then don't think u will manage to get a point on Liverpool or man.city...imagine drawing Arsenal in OT . I wish Ole the best I request him not to change his management.

It was a sure thing. A one step closer to the titles. Now what Manchester United need is few good signings. We need a very good centre back, a wing back, a winger very urgently. I am sure Manchester United will be back in good form. Next year Manchester United will be the main title contenders. Mark my words Ole is at the wheel. OGS❤❤❤

Solskjaer has forced United back into contention for a top-four finish in the Premier League and through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they will face Barcelona. And believe man utd will bring back champions league to England.

it's a very good idea to consider him as permanent because he has proved it beyond all reasonable doubts. But he needs to be very careful now considering the following : 1) pressure will come higher than when he was the intirem 2) mananger- player relationship is delicate now as solks could easily build relationships with certain players because he wasn't permanent and will now want to take his full responsibilities and control over players considering some players will always want to do as they want. 3) he is now full decision taker and should know he's decisions will please some and not favour some .

So all United fan's here think he's the answer. Wow so that means he's better than Moyes VGaal and Mou. They have short memories. Remember Cardiff City? They were in such a rush that they didn't even wait for the season to end to see how he fares yet they have already committed themselves to a 3 year contract. Either very stupid or a bold move. I hope for their sake it's the latter. United real problem has never been their managers but more a players attitude especially with Mou. I hope it doesn't back fire on em. Especially a certain player in particular who never got on with the previous manager.
