On 9 January, the Premier League officially announced that Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko has been voted the Premier League Player of the Matchweek for Matchweek 21.
EPL official statement
Sesko burst into life against Burnley, scoring two goals in the space of 10 minutes as his side drew 2-2 at Turf Moor.
His first goal, scored in the 50th minute, highlighted his expert movement as he ran in behind the Burnley defence before applying the finish to Bruno Fernandes’ well-timed pass.
Just 10 minutes later, the Slovenian found the net again, this time with an instinctive one-touch finish from Patrick Dorgu's cross.
Sesko's two goals on the night matched the total he had scored in his previous 16 matches for Man Utd.
It is the sixth time a Man Utd player has been named Player of the Matchweek, following the successes of Harry Maguire in Matchweek 8, Bryan Mbeumo in Matchweek 9, Fernandes in Matchweeks 13 and 15, and most recently Dorgu in Matchweek 18.
Sesko picked up 51 per cent of the fan vote, while his closest challenger, Brentford striker Igor Thiago, had 17 per cent.
The other nominees were Newcastle United forward Harvey Barnes (11 per cent), Leeds United's Brenden Aaronson (eight per cent), Manchester City's new signing Antoine Semenyo in his final match for AFC Bournemouth (seven per cent) and Fulham's Harry Wilson (six per cent).

Whenever a Man United player is up for a Premier league award everybody should just assume he's won cause our fanbase couldn't care less about other players 😂
