Marcos Alonso has committed his long-term future to Chelsea by signing a contract until 2023.

Since joining the club from Fiorentina in 2016, Alonso has made 92 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals and providing 11 assists, both as a wing-back and a full-back.
"I am so happy to stay here longer and to keep playing for one of the best teams in the world," Alonso told the club's official website.
"It’s been a very good two seasons and I am looking forward to more."
The 27-year-old has been a key part of the club's recent Premier League title win and their FA Cup triumphs, to the point where he made his Spain debut during his time at the club.
He has since gone on to win three caps for La Roja, having made his bow in March of 2018.

Chelsea fans what do you think we can actually use alonso as a false 9 before January transfer since we don't have goal scoring strikers even drogba was playing 5 before they converted him to 9.Like if you think Alonso will perform better than giroud and morata as our no.9

I love hips attacking ability. Perfectly fits attacking minded managers tactics. But he shouldn’t forget his defensive role. He should remember that he is a def and his duty is to defend and not run like a headless chicken. viva Marco. All in all , you are great.

It seems that Marcos Alonso has signed a new, long term contact until 2023 and fair play to the guy, he deserves after impressing under Sarri the last few months. He's received his fair amount of criticism in the past, but he's done well under Sarri and deserves this new contact.
