On August 27th, Tottenham Hotspur officially announced that Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush has joined the club on a season-long loan with an obligation to make the transfer permanent. According to reports by Fabrizio Romano, the total deal is worth £60 million.
Tottenham Hotspur Official Announcement
We are delighted to announce that Egyptian international forward Omar Marmoush has joined on a season-long loan with an obligation to make the transfer permanent next summer.
Omar said: "It feels amazing to be here. I'm incredibly excited to join the team and can't wait to meet the fans. Tottenham Hotspur is one of the biggest clubs in England and in the world, and this project is very appealing to me."
"I've spoken with the Head Coach and I really liked what he had to say. I believe our shared passion for the game will make us work very well together."
Sporting Director Johan Lange said: "Omar is an outstanding player and his arrival represents our ambition. He has proven himself capable of performing at the highest level, and we believe he can play a significant role in what we want to achieve in the coming years."
"We are incredibly happy to welcome Omar to the club and look forward to his significant contribution as we continue to build a strong team to achieve our goals."
Head Coach De Zerbi said: "Omar is exactly the kind of player we want at this club – ambitious, hungry for success, and determined to make a difference. He possesses incredible attacking ability, but I admire even more his desire to improve and win."
"He is fast, intelligent, and a significant threat in front of goal. I believe he can elevate our attack to a new level."
Omar, from Cairo, Egypt, made his professional debut for Wadi Degla in July 2016 at just 17 years old, before moving to VfL Wolfsburg in Germany the following year. He initially played for Wolfsburg's youth team in the German Regionalliga Nord, making his first-team debut in May 2020. In the second half of the 2020/21 season, he was loaned to FC St. Pauli.
The following season saw the forward make his breakthrough in European football on loan at VfB Stuttgart at just 22 years old. He had a sensational start to his loan spell, scoring on his debut and winning the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award in September 2021 – an award he won again in March 2022.
After a brilliant year in Baden-Württemberg, he returned to Wolfsburg and became a first-team regular in his final season with the club, making 48 first-team appearances and scoring 6 goals.
In May 2023, he transferred to Eintracht Frankfurt and had an excellent first season, scoring 17 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions, helping the team qualify for the Europa League. His superb form continued into the following season, earning him the Bundesliga Player of the Month award in September 2024, where he was involved in 7 of the team's 8 goals. In November 2024, he won the Bundesliga Player of the Month award again.
After 67 appearances, 37 goals and 20 assists for Eintracht Frankfurt, the forward joined Manchester City in January 2025 and made a remarkable start to his Premier League career, scoring a hat-trick in Manchester City's 4-0 win over Newcastle United the following month.
In his first season at Manchester City, he made 25 appearances across all competitions, scoring 8 goals, and won the Premier League Goal of the Season award for a stunning strike against Bournemouth in May 2025. In the 2025/26 season, he helped Manchester City win the League Cup and FA Cup, making 62 appearances and scoring 16 goals across all competitions.
In October 2021, Omar scored the winning goal on his debut for the Egyptian national team in a World Cup qualifier against Libya, helping them qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations. He has represented Egypt in three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and made his World Cup debut in 2022. He has made 55 appearances for Egypt, scoring 11 goals.
Welcome, Omar!
Manchester City Official Announcement
Omar Marmoush has joined Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan. The Egyptian international joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 and has made 62 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals.
The 27-year-old played a key role in helping Manchester City secure the Premier League title at the end of the 2024/25 season. He made a memorable start to his Manchester City career in February 2025, scoring a hat-trick against Newcastle United.
He also scored against Brighton, Leicester City, and Crystal Palace, and won the Premier League Goal of the Season with a stunning 30-yard strike against Bournemouth in the penultimate game of the season. By the end of the 2024/25 season, he had scored 8 goals in 25 appearances.
In the 2025/26 season, he made 36 appearances and scored 8 goals, including two braces – one against Newcastle United in the FA Cup and another in the League Cup.
The number 7 started alongside Erling Haaland in the FA Cup final in May, helping Manchester City defeat Chelsea and complete a domestic cup double. In this month's Community Shield, Marmoush came on as a second-half substitute under new manager Enzo Maresca. He will now reunite with former Manchester City teammate Savinho in North London.
Everyone at Manchester City wishes Omar all the best during his loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur. (End of announcement)
According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is structured as £50 million plus £10 million in performance-based add-ons. Eintracht Frankfurt will not receive a sell-on clause. Both clubs reached an agreement on the move over the weekend.

What's going on with Manchester City? Are they trying to avoid 115 court charges? They'll suffer if they're not careful on how they sell their players.
