A product of the Sporting Clube de Portugal youth academy, Nuno Mendes became the 13th Portuguese player to represent Paris Saint-Germain when he joined the club on loan last summer, just a few months after winning the league and cup double in Portugal with the Leões.
In his first season in Paris, the teenage international made 37 appearances, providing two assists and playing his part in the club’s tenth French championship triumph. Nominated for the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year award, he was named best left-back of the competition at just 19 years of age.
Having represented his country in every youth category, the native of Sintra made his senior international debut in March 2021 against Azerbaijan, before playing at UEFA Euro 2020. He has 13 caps for Portugal.
