Sampdoria have officially appointed Eusebio Di Francesco as their new Coach on a three-year contract. “He is the best choice.”
He replaces Marco Giampaolo, who joined Milan this week, and it is his first role since Roma fired him in March.
“Di Francesco is the best choice, with the objective of continuing to help our Samp grow,” President Massimo Ferrero told the official club website.
“He is a Coach who will put his preparation, experience, quality football, hunger and mentality at our disposal. Welcome, Eusebio!”
Di Francesco is 49 years old and has signed a contract to June 2022.
His coaching career began at Virtus Lanciano in 2008 and he went on to spells at Pescara, Lecce, Sassuolo and Roma, where he took the Giallorossi to the Champions League semi-final last season.

Great move for both parties IMO. EDF is very similar to Giampaolo IMO in that he isn't a elite-level coach but is very good at developing & improving young players(crucial part of Sampdoria's business model of buying low & selling high) and plays entertaining football Actually EDF is probably an upgrade on Giampaolo. Excellent appointment by Samp

we’ve just signed a new coach but we still have to sign a sporting director. I doubt the club has already planned any signing, the names being thrown around are just journalistic speculation imho.
