OFFICIAL: Thomas Partey joins Villarreal CF from Arsenal

Villarreal CF and Thomas Partey have reached an agreement for the Ghanaian footballer to join the Yellows for the 2025-26 season. The player will join the team's dynamic from tomorrow at the Ciudad Deportiva.

Thomas Teye Partey (Odumase Krobo, 13 June 1993) is a very complete midfielder, with a long career and exceptional physical conditions. He is a fantastic ball recoverer and has an ability to start the play from the back. The African footballer also has a good shot from mid-range and has the ability to overcome lines in driving.

The highly experienced Ghanaian midfielder has more than 50 caps for his country's national team. In addition, he has defended the interests of Arsenal FC, Atlético de Madrid, UD Almería and RCD Mallorca. With the English team, he was proclaimed champion of the English Super Cup (23/24), while with the red-and-white team he lifted the league championship (20/21), the European Super Cup (18/19), and the Europa League (17/18).

On the other hand, the club is aware that the footballer is immersed in a judicial process in England. The player defends his innocence with absolute forcefulness and denies all the charges against him. The entity respects his presumption of innocence as a fundamental principle and is waiting for the ruling of the Justice, which will be in charge of clarifying the facts of which he is accused. In light of UK legislation regarding ongoing proceedings, the club will not comment further on this matter.
