UEFA have officially opened disciplinary proceedings over Cristiano Ronaldo's red card — but he will not find the result untill next week.
UEFA disciplinary announcement:
UEFA Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Champions League group stage match between Valencia CF and Juventus Football Club, played on 19 September in Spain.
Charges against Juventus Football Club: Cristiano Ronaldo - direct red card - Art. 15 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.
The case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 27 September.
Cristiano Ronaldo stole all of the headlines on the second night of the Champions League, as he was sent off during Juventus' 2-0 win over Valencia on Wednesday.
The Portugal international was shown his very first red card in Europe's premier club competition after he appeared to pull the hair of defender Jeison Murillo.
Ronaldo was astonished at the decision to the point that he was even reduced to tears as his first return to Spain since his departure from Real Madrid turned sour.
Indeed, he had to be helped from the turf after collapsing upon seeing the card, and took a number of minutes to leave the pitch.
UEFA assess cases on an individual basis, though they do institute an automatic one-match suspension for a straight red dismissal.

There are so many decisions been given to many unknown players. Why you people are reacting like anything..If it's cuz Ronaldo then you people are wrong. Bad decisions are part of football..They are the harsh realities of the game. Ronaldo itself should know this. As a legend, playing all these years, he should know how to handle this kind of situations. No special treatment for anyone. Not saying this because of Messi fan. This is true. Think people.

This is ridiculous. how this Ref issued a Red Card to CR7 the best and very polite FIFA and UEFA competitions. Even if he did made a first mistake it should be Tolerated. The Refs tolerate 2 mistakes before a YELLOW Card. This Ref was there only to HUMILIATE CHRISTIANO in SPAIN WHERE He always been the #one ( 1). That is a Sham for UEFA. and For all of the FOOTBzALL FANS in the WHOLE WORLD. I am wery asham of this BAD DECISION

The decision on Ronaldo red card against Valencia should be reviewed. They actually want to kill Ronaldo psychologically but he, CR7 will not die now. It took superb great football display and God's intervention for them to be actually convinced that he is the king of football of this era. I'm thinking they are purposely doing this to demoralize him. However God is on his side to strengthen him. That is one those things that challenges ones greatness. One thing I've seen clearly is that when Ronaldo is written off like this God always prove to the critics that it has not finished with him.

not all decisions are good and right. also not all human being are equal . the way you treat Ronald and Messi is not the way you will treat drinkwater. the same applied, the way you will treat president magufuri will not be the way you will treat Trump though both are presidents and we insist on equal human rights. inspite of that if you watch keenly the foul between murilo and Ronaldo you can't sort out what was the true foul was committed. touching somebody's head is a problem? in the power God Ronaldo is going to win that case
