The French Football Federation announced at a press conference that Zidane will succeed Deschamps and take charge of the French national team.
According to earlier reports from Romano, Zidane has signed with the French Football Federation until 2030 and will lead the team at Euro 2028 and the 2030 World Cup.
Since taking over the France team on July 8, 2012, Deschamps has led the side in 187 matches, recording 122 wins, 32 draws and 33 losses. He led the team to win the 2018 World Cup title and a runner-up finish at the 2022 World Cup, becoming one of the longest-serving national team coaches in French football history.
Zidane was born on June 23, 1972, in Marseille, France. During his career as a player, he played for Cannes, Bordeaux, Juventus, Real Madrid and other clubs. In 1998, Zidane led France to their first World Cup title in history, and he won the Ballon d’Or that year. Two years later, he again led the team to the European Championship title. In addition, Zidane was named FIFA Player of the Year three times, in 1998, 2000 and 2003.
In January 2016, Zidane replaced the dismissed Benitez as head coach of Real Madrid. During his first spell in charge of Real Madrid from 2016 to 2018, Zidane led the team to one La Liga title and one Spanish Super Cup, as well as two Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup titles. He also became the first head coach in history to win the Champions League three times in a row. In 2017, he was named FIFA Best Men’s Coach. In March 2019, Zidane returned to coach Real Madrid and led the team to another La Liga title in 2020. After the end of the 2020/21 season, Zidane once again stepped down as Real Madrid coach and has not taken any formal position.
After taking over France, Zidane’s first two official matches will be Nations League fixtures against Turkey and Belgium on September 26 and 29. His debut at the Stade de France will come on October 3, against Italy.

Well, I believe having coached Madrid for some time would give him some experience.I remember, Franz Beckenbauer never coached any club side before winning the 1990 world cup with West Germany.I also believe there are coaches without enough experience winning great titles.I also wish him the best.
I like the man, especially when he was still a player. I hope he will replicate that in his role as a coach. The challenge I see with National team coaching is that the coach is not always with his players. They are busy in other clubs. All in all I with him the best. I like him and the National team.
