Real Madrid have officially confirmed the return of Zinedine Zidane as their new coach who replaces Santiago Solari on a deal until 2022.
The Frenchman has won three Champions Leagues in a row with Los Blancos but he announced his resignation last year and now he will continue his path with the European defending champions.
A statement on the club's website reads: “The board of directors of Real Madrid, meeting today, Monday, March 11, 2019, has decided to terminate the contract that linked Santiago Solari with the club as coach of the first team.
“Real Madrid appreciates the work done by Santiago Solari and the commitment and loyalty he has always shown to this institution.
“The board of directors has also agreed the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as the new coach of Real Madrid with immediate incorporation for the remainder of the season and the next three – until June 30, 2022.
"The president of Real Madrid will appear today with Zinedine Zidane before the media at 8:00pm (CET) in the press room of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.”
The 46-year-old had overseen 149 competitive games with the Merengues, also winning La Liga in 2017, the Spanish Super Cup in 2017-18, plus two editions of the European Super Cup and Club World Cup.

I think Zizou has a higher mountain to climb as he has come to Real Madrid for the second time, because anything he does will be compared to his first tenure in office as Madrid coach. I sense he is about to tarnish his own image and the legacy he built. We are all aware that Zidane is not tactically genius but the influence of Cristiano Ronaldo made things easy for him with 50 goals or more a season. But let's watch and see,now that Ronaldo is gone if he can twist his tactics to win matches with ease

Zidane is the best coach Real Madrid had. I hope he will bring back the happy days. But I am not expecting a good season from now on. It will take time for him to bring back his old players to his methods and tactics. I think he will buy some costly players in the window. I hope Isco and Asensio will back in form to help Real Madrid to close the gap between Barcelona and Real Madrid. I hope he will sell both Bale and Courtois and fit his confidence to Keylor Navas. I hope he will not buy Neymar instead buy many players to strengthen their defence, forward and midfield as in defence Sergio Ramos is in a way of breaking apart from Madrid. In mid field Modric and Kross have lost their earlier form. Either Zidane should bring back them into action or buy a good mid fielder. Again in the fore front they have Vincius and Asensio so they have no need to worry about it. If necessary can sign a star player. I hope they will be a challenging team for the next La Liga, for Copa Del Rey and to lock their official trophy ----- THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.
