After two seasons at the club, Ibrahim Sissoko (28) has officially left AS Saint-Étienne to join Bundesliga side VfL Bochum, bringing an end to a spell that saw him play a key role in Les Verts’ return to Ligue 1.

Signed from Sochaux in the summer of 2023, the Ivorian striker quickly became a pivotal figure for Les Verts  in their Ligue 2 campaign which saw them return to Ligue 1. Sissoko scored 13 goals during his debut season, including a vital strike against Metz in the first leg of the Ligue 1 promotion/relegation play-off to help the club seal its long-awaited return to the top flight.

Sissoko now begins a new chapter in Germany, joining Bochum as they seek to bounce back from relegation. Speaking on the German club's website, the forward said:"I'm very happy to be here in Bochum and I can't wait to get out on the pitch with my teammates. I've heard a lot about the atmosphere in German stadiums and I'm looking forward to experiencing it up close."
