Wolves Official Announcement

Wolves have formally parted company with Head Coach Rob Edwards and his coaching staff.

Edwards returned to Wolves in November last year, during one of the most challenging periods in the club's recent history. He and his team dedicated themselves to stabilizing team operations and driving the club's development.

Following the conclusion of the season, the club completed a comprehensive evaluation and determined that a change in leadership was necessary to enter a new phase of development.

The club acknowledges the significant challenges faced by Edwards and his team during their tenure and commends their professionalism and dedication shown throughout, but ultimately concluded that a new sporting direction is the best foundation for future success.

Nathan Shi, Executive Chairman of the club, stated: "I would like to personally thank Rob and his team for all their efforts during one of the most difficult periods in the club's recent history. Rob accepted the challenge to return to Wolves at an extremely critical time and has maintained professionalism, integrity, and dedication throughout his tenure.

This was an extremely difficult decision. After the season concluded, we conducted a comprehensive review of all aspects of team operations. During this process, we carefully considered numerous factors and deeply contemplated the core elements required for the club's development in the coming years.

The decision is not about personality, professional attitude, or dedication, but solely about determining which choice will provide Wolves with the best opportunities for sporting success.

Despite positive signs and indications of progress, we ultimately believe that a new footballing direction is better suited to the style, identity, and level of competitiveness the club aims to establish.

While maintaining the status quo would be easier, leadership is not about choosing the easiest path, but about making tough decisions that are right for the club's future and laying a strong foundation for Wolves' development.

Our goal is to build a club capable of sustained success. This requires a clear vision, unity among all members, and the courage to make difficult choices when we believe they are in the club's best interest."

The club officially records and thanks Rob and the departing team for their professionalism, dedication, and hard work during their time at Compton Park, and wishes them all the best for the future.

The search for a new head coach has begun, and the club is committed to selecting a leader who can guide Wolves into a new phase of sporting development. Updates will be announced in due course. (End of announcement)

Rob Edwards, 43, returned to Wolves on November 12, 2025, as first-team head coach. He led the team in 30 matches that season, with a record of 5 wins, 9 draws, and 16 losses, ultimately failing to avoid relegation.
