Oliver Glasner to make Crystal Palace pitch to Brennan Johnson

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner will look to convince Brennan Johnson of completing a £35million move from Tottenham today.

The Wales international has been given permission to discuss terms after Tottenham agreed a fee earlier this week.

Daily Mail Sport reported on Monday how Palace had accelerated efforts to sign their No1 target following the match between the two sides at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

However, Johnson has still to be fully sold on the transfer and Palace hope discussions with Glasner today can finally persuade the 24-year-old to join.

Johnson has other clubs interested and has considered waiting until the summer but Palace are pushing hard.

Johnson was Tottenham's leading scorer last season with 18 goals. However, they have shown their willingness to sell a player, who cost £47.5m from Nottingham Forest, at a loss as he is not part of manager Thomas Frank's long-term plans.

Palace are also keen on Wolves' Jorgen Strand Larsen as they anticipate offers for Jean-Philippe Mateta.

West Ham have enquired about Eddie Nketiah but he has picked up another hamstring injury.
