Oliver Kahn, the legendary former goalkeeper for Germany and Bayern Munich, gave his opinion on Sven Ulreich's nightmare error against Real Madrid which led to Karim Benzema scoring the goal that eventually sent Zinedine Zidane's side to the final at Bayern's expense.
Kahn sympathised with Ulreich and said he had made a similar error when he was a player.
"It's obvious that he was thinking about two things at the same time: he wanted to grab the ball with his hands and at the same time he wanted to kick it far away," Kahn said.
"These things happen. It also happened to me against Real Madrid with a free-kick from Roberto Carlos. You don't to wake up the next day."
Joshua Kimmich had given Bayern the lead on the night but two strikes from Benzema made it 2-1 to Madrid. James Rodriguez struck later on for the Germans but they could not get the final goal they needed and they failed to reach the Champions League for the fifth year runnning.

I don't know why everyone blames Ulreich for the second goal.. it is the STUPID pass from tolisso who put his keeper in trouble.. he could only save the goal by catching the ball by his hands which would be a red card and a disaster night for Bayern, it's not Ulreich fault that Lewandowski (dreaming about playing for Madrid) did nothing in 180 minutes, it's Tolisso and Rafinha who caused 2 easy goals for Madrid.. not Ulreich.

Like A smart Person Said Once, "We jump together we spit together we do everything together." In my opinion Ulriech will be one if not the best GK in the future but no one here is to blame when you are a hero you can either be the Victim or the hero but never the villain

How many mistakes did the strikers, defenders and mid-fielders made last night? How many goals did they miss? How many balls were lost in the midfield? How many were left uncleared in the box? Please, spare Ulreich. He did his best both in the first and second legs but his best may not be enough. Everyone on Bayern's shirt made that mistake together not only the goalkeeper.

in my eyes it was a mistake but not a major mistake, that pass put the keeper under a lot of pressure, it seems he forgot it was a pass and he couldn't grab it (which he was going to do) and as he was avoiding to do that he was trying to kick it at the same time and slipped, leading to the goal.. it's really painful for the win to go to Real like that, but it's life and it's football... he has to move on

If a striker, midfielder or defender makes a mistake in a game, no problem. If a goalkeeper does, he is crucified. Football is a game of collective responsibility. While blaming the goalkeeper when the ball passed through ten men unstopped before getting to him? If the move had been truncated, the cross wouldn't have come into the box in the first place, the header too would have been avoided. Leave the goalkeeper alone please!
